Three York County judges retain seats


Voters on Tuesday overwhelmingly retained Judges John S. Kennedy, Maria Musti Cook and Joseph C. Adams for another term on the York County Court of Common Pleas bench.

Kennedy was retained with 33,877 "yes" votes to 10,813 "no" votes, according to unofficial results.

Musti Cook received 31,539 "yes" votes and 12,421 "no" votes. Adams garnered 32,103 votes for retention, compared to 11,501 "no" votes, according to the results.

The judges: Kennedy, 57, of Spring Garden Township, was first elected in 1995 and successfully sought retention in 2005.

Musti Cook, 58, of York City, and Adams, 47, of Manchester Township, were elected in 2005, according to the Pennsylvania Department of State.

The results of the election will be certified by the York County Board of Elections in a few weeks.

Common Pleas judges are paid $176,572 annually.
