No one was hurt when someone fired a gun twice during a fight outside a York City restaurant/bar shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday, police said.

York City Police Lt. Glenn Knauer said a fight started inside Cobblestone's, 205 S. George St.

Bar bouncers sprayed the brawling crowd with pepper spray to break up the fight, he wrote in an email.

"Needless to say, everyone anywhere near the peppermace made a mad dash for the front door," Knauer wrote.

But as the crowd ran out of the bar, another fight erupted on the sidewalk in front of Cobblestone's, the lieutenant said.

It was during the outside skirmish that someone fired a gun twice, according to Knauer, sending people "running in all directions."

Two more gunshots were heard a very short time later in the first block of East Princess Street, he said.

No one was arrested, Knauer said, primarily because so many people fled and others didn't want to "get involved."

Knauer said police don't know whether the shooter was aiming at anyone in particular or not.

In other Cobblestone's news, state Liquor Control Enforcement agents cited the bar last month with operating in a noisy or disorderly manner, according to an LCE news release.
