'Project Lifesaver' to help find lost loved ones with special needs

York Rescue Mission joins other regional groups for food drive

The York Rescue Mission, the Bethesda Mission in Harrisburg, and the Water Street Mission in Lancaster will conduct a partnership food drive, Sunday, Nov. 1, through Sunday, Dec. 20.

Bags of food (no glass containers) can be dropped off at local Rescue Missions and at all Turkey Hill Minit Markets, M&T Bank branches and Sharp Shoppers in York, Lancaster, Dauphin and Cumberland counties. Donations will benefit the missions in the county of each drop-off site.

In addition, the York Rescue Mission will host two Stuff the Truck campaigns.

During First Friday, bring food donations to fill the truck, 5-8 p.m. Nov. 6 at the corner of Beaver and Market streets. There will also be face painting, balloons and more.

Then on Saturday, Nov. 21, fill the truck with perishable and non-perishable food items, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Santander Stadium's Brook Robinson Plaza, which will offer festivities and a visit by WARM 103.3.

To donate a financial gift, send it to the York Rescue Mission, 371 W. Market St., PO Box 1968, York, PA 17405; call 845-7662; or visit www.yorkrescuemission.org
