The American Red Cross is encouraging eligible donors to give blood prior to the holiday season, when donations typically drop off.

Donations are needed in the weeks leading up to the Thanksgiving-to-Christmas time period. York County blood drives through mid-November are:

  • Ongoing: Greater Hanover Donation Site, 529 Carlisle St., 1-6:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, and 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturdays.
  • Monday, Nov. 2: 2:30-8 p.m. at Stewartstown Baptist Church, 18631 Five Forks Road.
  • Nov. 9: 1-6:30 p.m. at the York Red Cross chapter, 724 S. George St.
  • Nov. 11: 2-7 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 3375 Druck Valley Road.
  • Nov. 12: 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the York County Nursing Home, 118 Pleasant Acres Road, and at the Art Institute of York, 1409 Williams Road.
  • Nov. 14: 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at the York Expo Center, Memorial Hall, 334 Carlisle Ave.
