Police arrested a Glen Rock man on Tuesday, alleging he possessed and shared at least 10 child pornography videos.

Michael Richard Groff, 31, of 34 Water St., apartment 4, is charged with 10 felony counts each of possession of child pornography, dissemination of child pornography and criminal use of a communication facility, according to the criminal complaint against him.

On June 19, state troopers investigating the distribution of child pornography were monitoring as a computer at that Water Street address downloaded and redistributed child pornography, according to charging documents. The troopers downloaded and viewed the file, which police say showed an adult man having sex with a young child who is around 5 years old.

Troopers obtained a search warrant for the address, but found no one there when they showed up around noon Tuesday. They got in touch with the listed renters, who said they had no knowledge of any child pornography on their computers, but that another man — Groff — lives with them and they didn't know what he had on his personal computers, documents state.

The troopers tracked down Groff, who told them he had indeed possessed and shared child pornography, police allege.

Authorities investigated all the computers in the apartment, and found child pornography on Groff's computer, but not on the computers of the other two residents, according to documents.

They found "numerous images and videos" suspected to be depicting minors performing sex acts, documents states.

The charging documents list 10 files of suspected child pornography. Many have graphically explicit titles, most listing the ages of the children depicted, according to charging documents.

Groff remains in York County Prison on $80,000 bail, according to prison records.
