A 1-year-old child was hurt when her caregiver ran over her in a Conewago Township driveway, police said.

At 8 a.m. Tuesday, the caregiver placed three other children into her vehicle, which was in the driveway of a residence in the 2500 block of Millcreek Road, and forgot to place the toddler in the vehicle, according to Northern York County Regional Police. The caregiver began to back out of the driveway and felt a thump.

The caregiver stopped the vehicle and found the girl lying in the driveway, police said.

The child was taken to York Hospital, then airlifted to Hershey Medical Center for treatment, police said.

Northern Regional Police are investigating the incident. Anyone with information about it is asked to call NYCRPD at 717-292-3647 or go to nycrpd.org and use the crime tip reporting section of the website.
