Dauphin parents plead guilty to murder in death of disabled son
HARRISBURG — A central Pennsylvania man and woman have pleaded guilty to third-degree murder and other charges in the death of their disabled 9-year-old son last year.
Thirty-nine-year-old Jarrod Tutko Sr. pleaded guilty in Dauphin County Court on Monday to the murder charge as well as child endangerment and concealing the death of a child.
Forty-year-old Kimberly Tutko pleaded guilty to murder and child endangerment in the death of Jarrod Tutko Jr., whose body was found in August 2014 in the family's Harrisburg home.
An autopsy concluded that the boy, who weighed less than 17 pounds, died of malnutrition and neglect.
Both also pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and child endangerment related to their 10-year-old disabled daughter. Police said she was found in dire medical condition as police investigated her brother's death.
