Police say a York City man used a BB gun to rob another man Monday night.

Elijah Tyrell Taylor, 19, of 924 W. Princess St., is charged with robbery, which is a felony, as well as misdemeanor counts of simple assault, receiving stolen property and theft; he has also been cited for possession of a BB gun.

York City Police allege Taylor pointed a BB gun at another man's head near the corner of Belvidere Avenue and West Philadelphia Street; Taylor had the man empty his pockets, and he grabbed the man's backpack, according to charging documents.

Officers tracked Taylor down nearby in the 600 block of West Market Street. Taylor admitted to the crimes, according to documents, and officers were able to give the victim back the items that had been stolen from him.

Taylor remains in York County Prison in lieu of $40,000 bail, according to authorities.
