PSP: Interstate 83 northbound now reopen at Market Street

12:50 p.m. UPDATE:

State police said I-83 northbound has now reopened at Exit 19.

Expect residual traffic delays.

12:30 p.m. FRIDAY UPDATE:

Interstate 83 northbound traffic is moving, but slowly.

Traffic is also snarled on Mount Rose Avenue near the interstate, because fire police are funneling northbound I-83 traffic off the highway at Exit 18.

REPORTED EARLIER:

A crash has closed both lanes of Interstate 83 northbound at the Market Street exit (Exit 19).

The crash happened at 11:23 a.m. Friday, according to the York County 911 Center.

Police and rescue crews are responding.

Northbound traffic approaching Exit 19 is gridlocked, according to 911 radio transmissions.

Also avoid Mount Rose Avenue near the interstate. Emergency officials are funneling northbound traffic off I-83 and onto Mount Rose Avenue.
