ForSight Vision, a local charitable organization that provides services to the blind and visually impaired, will host a fundraiser to raise awareness about blindness and visual impairment.

At the event, called Dining in the Dark, guests will eat dinner while wearing blindfolds.

"We don't promote it as an event simulating blindness," Bill Rhinesmith, president of the organization, said on Monday. Instead, it's an opportunity for participants to enjoy a meal and fellowship with other people using senses other than sight, he said.

The event, which will take place at Wyndridge Farm, 885 S. Pleasant Ave., Dallastown, is slated for Thursday. Cocktails will be served at 6 p.m. and dinner starts at 7 p.m. The cost is $50.

Those interested in purchasing tickets can call ForSight Vision 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at (717) 848-1690, ext. 105, or ext. 108.
