Southern York County EMS will be holding a dedication and community kick-off celebration Sunday, Oct. 25, at the Airville fire station to unveil their newly unified emergency medical services unit, according to a news release.

The free event starts with a brief dedication at 1 p.m., followed by three hours of demonstrations, family activities and educational opportunities for attendees, according to the release.

The fire station is located at 3576 Delta Road in Lower Chanceford Township.

The kick-off will have fire-fighting and car extrication demonstrations, fire-prevention displays, a smoke house, hands-only CPR instruction, blood pressure screening, children's activities and free refreshments, as well as a Stat Medevac helicopter, if weather permits and the helicopter isn't needed elsewhere, according to the release.

The event is open to people of all ages, the release said.

The new regional organization coalesced over the past several months out of Delta-Cardiff Ambulance, Brogue Ambulance, Fawn Grove Ambulance and Medic 95, a joint medic venture between Delta-Cardiff and Fawn Grove ambulances. It covers Fawn Grove, Fawn Township, Delta, Chanceford Township, Lower Chanceford Township and Peach Bottom Township.
