Route 30 burger: Rutter's introduces edible tribute
Two burgers will become one.
To honor the historic Route 30 — whose attractions include a few Rutter's Farm Stores — the York-based convenience store chain is combining two of its burgers.
The Rt. 30 Burger will be a mashup of the gas chain's grilled cheese sandwich and one-third pound Angus beef burger, according to a company news release.
The sandwich will consist of two full toasted grilled cheese sandwiches serving as the "buns" with the choice of one, two or three one-third pound Angus beef burgers inside.
Rutter's customers can add endless toppings to the burger, which pays homage to the original Rutter's family farm and current corporate headquarters located just a few blocks away from the major interstate, according to the release.
Rutter's is encouraging customers to show off their Rt.30 burgers by uploading pictures to social media — using the hashtag #rt30burgercontest — for a chance to win a $500 Rutter's gift card.
The person whose photo gets the most votes will be declared the winner.
