Suspect in 100-bullet homicide gets more time to review evidence

Birthday celebration planned at Gifford Pinchot State Park


The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and Gifford Pinchot State Park will host a celebration of Mr. Gifford Pinchot's 150th birthday with a fall walk, tree planting and birthday cake, Saturday and Sunday.

A park naturalist will lead the family-friendly fall walk at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Conewago Day Use area. Participants should meet at the nature/interpretive building, wear sturdy footwear and be prepared to be outdoors. The walk will last for about an hour and a half.

Then on Sunday, park staff and volunteers will be at the nature/interpretive center, Conewago Day Use area, for a tree planting, tree crafts for kids and birthday cake. The party will begin at 1 p.m., with the tree planting at 2 p.m.

Registration is not required.
