Aspiring photographers will have the opportunity to put their skills to the test in a York-themed photo contest this fall.

The Instagram photo competition called "Fall in Love with York" and sponsored by State Rep. Kevin Schreiber, D-York, is aimed at middle, high school and college-age students living in the 95th Legislative District, which includes York City, West York, Spring Garden Township and District 1 of West Manchester Township.

The contest is scheduled to run from Monday, Oct. 5 to Wednesday, Nov. 18. and students may enter an unlimited number of photos to be judged by a panel of local photographers.

The 10 winning photos will be announced the week after Thanksgiving and will be displayed in Schreiber's office as his winter art installation.

Schreiber said photographs submitted to the contest must feature the 95th in some way and cannot include people.

To participate, upload the contest submission to Instagram and label it with the hashtag #fallinlovewithyork, and include the student's grade and school, and the location of the photo.

"The two previous photo contests held during the springtime included many incredible entries from local students," Schreiber said in a press release. "I am excited to see the amazing photos they will take of autumn, which is one of the most beautiful times of the year."
