The York County Department of Parks and Recreation will present a Get Outdoors Scouts Day, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at Nixon County Park.

Self-guided stations targeting third- to fifth-grade scouting requirements will be set up around the Nature Center. A booklet will be provided to guide participants from station to station.

Adult supervision is required. The cost is $2 per child. No registration is required.

Scouts will also have a chance to conduct a service project by working with a park naturalist in replanting several areas.

Teams will be make wire cages for small trees and dig holes for new trees. Tools will be provided.

Long pants and long-sleeved shirts are suggested.

There is no fee for the service project, which is also open to small teams, families and civic groups.
