A 17-year-old boy who was shot Wednesday afternoon in York City is not cooperating with police trying to investigate the incident, York City Police Chief Wes Kahley said.

The shooting happened at 4:30 p.m. near the corner of State Street and Glen Place, according to the chief.

The teen, whose name was not released because he's a juvenile, suffered a gunshot wound to the arm, Kahley said.

He made his own way to a local hospital instead of waiting for an ambulance to arrive, according to York County 911 radio transmissions.

Kahley said the teen "is being uncooperative" with investigators trying to solve the crime.

Anyone with information can call York City Police at (717) 846-1234, or call 911.
