Dover plans community activities in October

The Union Fire and Hose Co., 30 E. Canal St., Dover Borough, has announced its public activities in October.

Saturday: Eighth annual yard sale, 8 a.m.-3 p.m., pancake breakfast (egg sandwiches available), 7-10 a.m., and car show, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Breakfast is $5 for adults and $2.50 for children ages 6-12. Car show registration is $8 in advance (Roger, 324-5821 or www.unionfireandhose.com) or $10 at the event, when registration opens at 9 a.m. Dash plaques will be given to the first 100 entries. Yard sale spaces: Troy, 324-5823. Lunch will also be available.

Sunday: Halloween parade at 3 p.m. Parade forms at Dover Intermediate School and begins at Jim and Nena's Pizza. To register a group, float, etc., call Shawn at 855-4941.

Wednesday: Annual fire prevention open house, 6-8 p.m. Features activities, fire truck rides, smoke house, refreshments and more. Friday, Oct. 9: Dinner, 6 p.m., and drawing for meat from Weaver's of Wellsville, 7 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m. Dinner and admission are free. Support the fire department by buying the tickets for the meat drawings and other games of chance. Information: Elaine Kroft, 292-1392.

Friday, Oct. 16: Grocery auction, 5 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 24: Meatloaf and boiled beef pot pie supper, 3:30 p.m. Eat in or carry out.
