The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for most of York County for the next several hours.

Issued at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday, the advisory will remain in effect until 1:45 a.m. for all but the most northern reaches of the county. It's also in effect for much of Adams and Lancaster counties.

The NWS warns that roads and small streams could flood thanks to the heavy rain that will continue to pelt the area.

The weather service cautions people not to try to drive on flooded roadways.
