The Stewartstown Historical Society will host a Susquehanna River program by Dr. David Glenn, a retired dentist and local historian, 7 p.m. Wednesday at Stewartstown United Methodist Church.

Glenn will talk about the challenges of crossing the river, from how the Indians dealt with it as a barrier to the opening of the Norman Wood Bridge in 1968. The program will also include the geology of the river, the Chesapeake and Tidewater Canal, the Holtwood Dam, the Theodore Burr wooden bridge and the new kayak feature.

An offering will be received.
