Rotary Club of York accepting applications for youth exchange program
The Rotary Club of York is accepting applications from high school students interested in participating in the yearlong Rotary Youth Exchange Program.
Students are selected through a written application and interview process, and those chosen are provided with training to help them deal with cultural issues and the challenges of living away from home.
Exchange students attend high school and are taught the language of the country. Room and board are provided free by two or three host families and students receive a small monthly allowance. Students are responsible for paying the registration fee, round trip airfare and mandatory health insurance.
To qualify for the year abroad from August 2016 to June 2017, students must be between ages 16 and 18-1/2 as of August 2015.
The application deadline is Oct. 1.
