PHOTO GALLERY: Horn Farm hosts home-schoolers

The Horn Farm Center hosted a community education program for home-schooled students and their families Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015. Volunteers made presentations on the center's summer kitchen where the students baked pretzels in a historic Squirrel Tail brick oven. Students also learned about foraging for native edibles. Those programs and others will be offered when the center hosts its fourth Homesteading Education Day Saturday, Sept. 26, which includes breakfast and lunch selections made in the brick oven. Classes on a range of homesteading topics are available. The cost is $35.00 which includes the two meals, beverages and a choice of three classes. Registration is available at the center's website at Bill Kalina -
