The Sunday morning shooting death of Erik Miranda has been ruled a homicide, according to the York County Coroner's Office.

An autopsy Monday morning showed Miranda, 24, of the 200 block of Jefferson Avenue in York City, died of gunshot wounds to the torso, the coroner's office said.

York City Police were called to the area around his home for reports of shots fired; there, they discovered Miranda, whom the coroner's office pronounced dead at the scene.

Miranda, who lived with his mother, was described by his family as hardworking; he held down two jobs and had just signed up to go to school for business.

York City Police continue to investigate; anyone with information is encouraged to call the department at 846-1234 or text 755-TIPS.
