York County Penn State Extension Master Gardeners will host a study of valuable insects for home-schooled students ages 8-12, 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Oct. 7, at the York County Penn State Extension office, 112 Pleasant Acres Road.

The hands-on study will cover the basics of insect anatomy to the importance of metamorphosis, pollination and their niche in the environment.

The cost is $14, and students must participate in all three programs to receive a certificate of completion.
