Police are investigating an incident involving people posing as Adams Electric employees to gain access into a home in an attempted burglary, according to a news release from the company.

Adams Electric is working with Southwestern Regional Police to warn local residents after a Hispanic male in his 30s posing as an Adams Electric employee persuaded a Manheim Township homeowner to leave his house to discuss electric installation. While the homeowner was outside, another person broke into the home through the front door, but fled without stealing anything, according to Chief Greg Bean.

Adams Electric is urging everyone to look for its logo on clothing, hats and vehicles, and ask for a company-issued photo ID from anyone entering a property claiming to be an Adams Electric employee or contractor. Anyone unsure is asked to contact the company as (888) 232-6732 to check identification.
