AARP Foundation looking for volunteer tax preparers
The AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is seeking volunteers to complete tax returns in York County during tax season as part of its free tax return service.
Volunteers are also needed to welcome and sign in clients, according to a news release from the York County Area Agency on Aging.
In January, the foundation will hold free training. Volunteers don't have to be an AARP member or retired, the release says.
During tax season, the volunteers will work at one or more sites, which include churches, libraries and senior centers, in the county.
More than 50 people volunteered and helped more than 3,000 taxpayers in the county last year, the release says.
For more information on how to volunteer, or to sign up, call the York County Area Agency on Aging at (717) 771-9610 or go to aarp.org/money/taxes/info-2006/volunteer_aarp_tax_aide.
