Expect long waits, big crowds at York Fair Sunday

If you're heading to the fair Sunday night, look out for the crowds.

With nice weather, many came out to enjoy the York Fair, which opened on Friday.

The surplus forced fair workers to shut down certain parking lots, leaving many waiting longer to get into the fair.

"At no time was the fair closed to the public," said York Fair General Manager Mike Froehlich, "but we did see lots become filled."

Froehlich said fair organizers planned for surplus crowds and will continue to move visitors from one lot to another to ensure everyone can enjoy the fair.

He added that in eight years, Sunday's turnout was one of the biggest he's seen so far.

"The community is really embracing the fair," he said.
