With local law enforcement reporting several flooded roadways in southern York County, the National Weather Service has a flood advisory in effect for some of the area for Saturday evening.

The advisory, which was issued shortly after 5 p.m. at remains in effect until 8:15 p.m., applies to the areas around York City, Dallastown, Red Lion, Shrewsbury, Glen Rock and Seven Valleys after heavy rain fell in the area earlier Saturday, according to a news release from the weather service.

The rain has passed, but the resulting runoff lcontinues the threat of flooding, according to the release.

The NWS strongly advises people to turn around if they see flooded streets; don't try to push through, as you'll likely become stuck, the service says. And it sometimes only takes a foot of water to push a vehicle around, according to the NWS.
