Newberry Township to host Red Land Little League with celebration Saturday


A celebration to honor the Red Land Little League will start at 11 a.m. and continue through the afternoon Saturday in Newberry Township to commemorate the team winning the United States Championship.

A parade will begin at the Red Land Little League complex at 11 a.m. The complex is located behind the Newberry Elementary School. It will travel north on Old Trail Road to the intersection of Perry Drive, where it will turn left on to Perry Drive and right on to Jory Drive. The parade will continue on Jory Drive to it reaches its final destination in the Newberry Commons parking lot near Members First Federal Credit Union.


Numerous vendors will be on site. Proceeds will benefit Red Land Little League.

To ensure the safety of the team and all individuals attending the event, all bags will be subjected to be searched. No firearms, knives, glass bottles, large coolers, skateboards, scooters, roller blades, pets and noise makers will be permitted in the celebration area. All individuals wishing to attend the event will only be permitted to enter the complex through pre-determined entry control points. These entry control points are located at the following locations:

Jory Drive near Member's First Federal Credit Union

Old Trail Road near Classic Cleaners

There will be no onsite parking for any attendees other than handicapped individuals. Individuals wishing to attend the event are urged to carpool. Free bus transportation can obtained to and from the event from the following locations.

Red Land High School - 560 Fishing Creek Road

Cross Roads Middle School - 535 Fishing Creek Road

Red Mill Elementary School - 700 Red Mill Road

F.C.I - 825 Old Trail Road

Fishing Creek Salem United Methodist Church - 402 Valley Road

Bus times will be posted on a later date for the event

Handicap parking will be accommodated for individuals attending the event at the entry control point located at Jory Drive and Mall Road.
