Rep. Klunk, Sen. Alloway to honor vets, military
State Rep. Kate Klunk, R-Hanover, and Sen. Richard Alloway, R-York, Adams, Cumberland and Franklin counties, are teaming up to host a Military and Veterans Appreciation Day in Hanover later this month.
The event, to be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 26, in the rear parking lot of Young Manor Office Building, 118 Carlisle St., will feature a patriotic opening ceremony followed by activities, according to a news release from their offices.
Food also will be on offer, and the event will feature exhibitors from local agencies and organizations that have services to help veterans, as well as live entertainment and crafts for kids, the release says. The event is open to veterans, members of the military and their families.
In the event of inclement weather, the event will take place at the Hanover Convention Center, 22 Carlisle St. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
