York City's Rep. Schreiber, others dance for a severance tax
York City Rep. Kevin Schreiber and six other Democratic representatives have taken to busking outside of the Capitol building in Harrisburg, but it wasn't done in the name of collecting a few dollars from passersby.
Rather the lawmakers are hoping to drum up support for a severance tax on the natural gas drillers in the state. Funds would be partially used to fund public education.
The video, dedicated to students heading back to school, was produced by the House Democratic Caucus and shows the legislators shaking and grooving to the popular tune "Watch Me."
Fortunately for the lawmakers, they don't have to rely on street performing for a paycheck. They are being paid despite the nearly 9-week long state budget impasse.
