One man was taken to the hospital after emergency crews were dispatched to a home in Dover Township for reports of someone having fallen into a fire pit at about 10:20 p.m. Saturday.

On Sunday afternoon Dover Township Deputy Fire chief Brian Widmayer said that as far as he knew, the person was still alive after being taken by ambulance to York Hospital.

He confirmed that a medical helicopter had been called to the scene in the area of 1400 Conewago Drive at one point, but it was canceled shortly after it was called.

He said he couldn't release any information about the burn victim's identity and injuries.
