One shot in York City

One person was shot in York City late Tuesday night, according to York City Police.

The shooting took place shortly before 10:30 p.m. in an alley near the corner of West King and South West streets.

A man who identified himself as Larry Logue, the victim's uncle, said his nephew had been shot twice in the legs and was in stable condition.

Emergency transmissions from the scene and statements from other people in the area backed that up.

Logue said he lives about across the street from where the shooting happened. He didn't see it, but he heard it.

"'Pop,' and a second later, another 'pop,'" he said, standing in the middle of the street after the shooting.

He said his nephew told him this happened when someone attempted to rob him and his girlfriend.

Police wouldn't release any information at the scene.
