Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a driver who fled after hitting a toddler on a York City street.

It happened about 1:35 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of Lafayette Street, York City Police said.

After being struck, the girl was taken to York Hospital, police said.

She is now at Hershey Medical Center, according to Chief Wes Kahley, who on Monday morning said an update on her condition was not immediately available to him.

The hit-and-run driver was male, according to police. No additional description of the driver or his car were available.

Anyone with information about the hit-and-run is asked to call Officer Nicholas Hansel at (717) 324-6604.
