Governor, first lady host Second Sunday event at mansion

Gov. Tom Wolf and first lady Frances Wolf may not be full-time residents of the governor's mansion in Harrisburg, but they are using it to host a series of free public events, the next of which is Sunday.

The couple has been holding monthly gatherings at the mansion, 2035 N. Front St., from 1 to 4 p.m. on the second Sunday of each month, and that will continue through September, according to a news release from the governor's office.

The theme of this month's event is Creatures of the Garden, and it will feature presentations by the Forgotten Friend Reptile Sanctuary, ZooAmerica, the Backyard Beekeepers Association and the Pennsylvania Game Commission.

Attendees can take self-guided tours of the grounds. They also can check out an art exhibition, "Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania; Through the Lens of Paul W. Meyer."

The final Second Sunday event will be held Sept. 13. For more information, go to
