A fire caused heavy damage to a Springettsbury Township home and minor injuries to the person who lived in it, according to York Area United Fire & Rescue battalion Chief Dan Hoff.

Crews were called to the 3800 block of Sylvan Drive at about 5 a.m., and had the blaze under control in about 15 or 20 minutes, Hoff said.

"The resident of the house received some minor burns," he said.

He said she was treated and released from the hospital, and was back around the house Sunday morning.

The woman, who Hoff believes to be the home's sole occupant, has been displaced, as the home is unlivable.

The cause and manner of the fire still remain under investigation, the chief said.
