Manchester Township's Assurant, with state aid, adding 300 jobs

Assurant will be expanding its two Manchester Township facilities, adding more than 300 jobs over three years, according to a news release from Gov. Tom Wolf's office.
Assurant, which provides protection products, insurance services and customer support, is set to receive more than $1 million in funding from the state Department of Community and Economic Development for the expansion via a Pennsylvania First grant, Job Creation Tax Credits and WEDnetPA employee training, the release states.
The expansion project — supporting the growth of Assurant's mobile phone repair business — includes investment in computer equipment, workstations, furniture and fixtures while creating 307 new jobs and retaining 1,342 more during the next three years, according to the release.
