Shoppers hunting for outdoor gear at Gander Mountain in West Manchester Township have until the end of August to do so, because the location is closing.

The store, near the West Manchester Town Center off Route 30, is clearing out inventory over the next few weeks, an employee at the store confirmed Friday.

There have been numerous reports that Gander Mountain will be closing its 126 stores nationwide, but the brand’s new owner, Marcus Lemonis, has indicated some of the store-closing reports are off the mark.

The Gander Mountain brand was acquired in May by Camping World Holdings. Shortly after the acquisition, Lemonis, Camping World’s CEO, wrote that nearly half of Gander Mountain stores would remain open, including the West Manchester Township location.

Employees at the West Manchester Township location said the store is to close at the end of August but deferred further comment to Gander Mountain’s corporate headquarters.

It remains unclear if the store will reopen in the future. Staff at Gander Mountain’s corporate headquarters did not return multiple requests for comment.
