Kinsley Construction has been selected as the construction manager for renovations to the Yorktowne Hotel, according to a news release from the York County Industrial Development Authority.

The authority picked Kinsley over 12 other proposals at its board meeting Tuesday, board chairman Jack Kay said in the release.

The hotel was closed in early December to begin a $20 million renovation project expected to be complete in 2018. It will be funded in part by a $10 million state grant through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program.

Kinsley's duties as construction manager will include providing cost estimates during the design phase and securing and scheduling more than 20 contractors as construction begins, the release states.

The company has worked on other major York City projects, including renovations of the former Lafayette Club, the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center and Martin Public Library. It has worked on hotel renovations in Gettysburg and Baltimore.

The hotel will host a public sale of items, including furniture, paintings and appliances, beginning at 9 a.m. May 27. Proceeds from the sale will go toward the renovation project, according to the authority.
