A new barbecue joint opens Thursday in the West Manchester Town Center, kicking off four weeks of giveaways and promotions for diners.

This location is the second Dickey’s Barbecue Pit  opened by father-and-son duo Dennis Dacheux and Dennis Dacheux Jr. within the past year, according to a news release.

“York is a great town with great people, and we can’t wait to give them a Texas-sized welcome  Thursday with authentic slow-smoked barbecue,” Dacheux Jr. said in the release.

To celebrate the opening, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit will offer three guests the chance to win free barbecue for a year, by using the hashtag #1FreeYearofBBQ on any social media site, signing up for Dickey’s Big Yellow Cup Club or ordering online, according to the release.

The restaurant plans to hold grand-opening events for the next four weeks.

For Philanthropy Fridays, uniformed first responders will receive a 50 percent discount on their meals, and guests will be able to donate to Dickey’s charity, Barbecue, Boots & Badges.

Kids eat free at the restaurant on Sundays, according to the release. For every $10 purchase, guests will receive one free kids’ meal.
