The conventions, to be held March 27-28, 2018, and March 26-27, 2019, are expected to bring more than 200 travel suppliers to the York Expo Center.

John Bailey, owner of York-based Bailey Travelways and chairman of the association, said in a news release that he's happy to bring Marketplace back to the county in hopes of catching the attention of group leaders who might choose to bring tour groups back to the area in the future.

York County last hosted the convention in 2006, according to the release.

The event is not open to the public, but the visitors bureau still expects it to generate about $1 million in economic benefits during the two-year period through attendees staying at local hotels, visiting attractions and eating at restaurants.

Bus companies from 20 different states are expected to attend.
