Utz buys Golden Flake company
Utz Quality Foods announced the completion of its acquisition of Golden Enterprises, which produces Golden Flake Snack Foods.
Golden Flake will continue to operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Hanover-based Utz, according to a news release. Golden Flake is headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama.
Golden Flake produces salted snacks, including potato chips, tortilla chips and fried pork skins, as well as dips, pretzels, crackers and other snack foods. Its distribution covers most of the Southeast.
Utz is the largest privately held snack food company in the U.S., according to the release. The acquisition price was not released.
