Dentsply, in York City, was awarded a contract worth up to $35 million to provide consumable dental items to various military agencies, according to a U.S. Department of Defense release.

Dentsply, which recently merged with Sirona to become the world's largest manufacturer of professional dental products and technologies, was one of 19 companies to submit an offer for the contract, which is through the Defense Logistics Agency in Philadelphia.

The contract includes a one-year base with four one-year option periods, which would bring the total to $35 million if all are exercised.

Work is expected to continue through Sept. 25, 2021, according to the release, with customers including the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and federal civilian agencies.
