American Hydro, in York County, was awarded a $19 million contract by the U.S. Department of Interior's Bureau of Reclamation to replace and update units at a Washington generating plant, according to a company news release.

Work on the units, at the John W. Keys III Pump Generating Plant on the Columbia River, is scheduled to be finished by January 2020.

The facility is part of the 6,809-megawatt Grand Coulee Power Complex that provides flood control, irrigation, hydropower, recreating, stream flow and fish and wildlife benefits, the release states.
