The York Group, a manufacturer and distributor of caskets and related products, will add 60 full-time jobs to its York County facility by consolidating one of its out-of-state sites, according to a news release from Gov. Tom Wolf's office.

The company, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Pittsburgh-based Matthews International Corp., will expand its Manchester Township facility by making renovations and purchasing new equipment, committing to invest at least $6 million in the project, the release states.

A Matthews International representative could not immediately be reached for comment.

The 60 additional jobs will be created during the next three years. The company will maintain its 276 existing positions. Interested job-seekers are encouraged to apply on site at the Manchester Township location, 2880 Blackbridge Road.

The expansion was announced in conjunction with a nearly $250,000 funding proposal from the state Department of Community and Economic Development, according to the release.
