Giant removes recalled moist cake mixes

Giant Food Stores has removed certain Betty Crocker Super Moist Cake Mixes from its stores after General Mills issued recalls, according to a company news release.

Betty Crocker Delights Super Moist Carrot Cake Mix and Betty Crocker Delights Super Moist Party Rainbow Chip Cake Mix were recalled due to a potential link with an E. Coli outbreak.

The recall applies to carrot cake mix packages with best buy dates of 4/12/17-4/14/17, 5/28/17-5/30/17, 7/7/17 and 7/8/17; and rainbow chip cake mix packages with best buy dates of 3/25/17, 3/28/17, 4/28/17 and 5/23/17-5/25/17.

Giant hasn't received any reports of illnesses related to the items to date but advises customers who purchased these products to discard any unused portions and bring their purchase receipt back to the store for a full refund.
