Giant removes recalled flour

Giant Food Stores has removed certain Gold Medal flour products from its stores after General Mills issued recalls, according to a company news release.

The recall is because of a potential link to an E. coli outbreak, the release states.

The recall includes:

  • Gold Medal Wondra Quick Mixing Flour, with best-by dates of 2/23/17 and 2/24/17
  • Gold Medal All Purpose Flour, 2 lb., with best-by dates of 5/15/17-5/24/17, 6/4/17, 6/5/17 and 6/11/17-6/14/17
  • Gold Medal All Purpose Flour, 5 lb., with best-by dates of 5/15/17-5/24/17
  • Gold Medal Unbleached All Purpose Flour, 5 lb., with best-by dates of 5/19/17-5/24/17, 6/11/17 and 6/12/17

Giant hasn't received any reports of illnesses related to these items to date but advises customers who purchased these products to discard any unused portions and bring their purchase receipt back to the store for a full refund.
