Giant Food Stores has removed certain Atkins bar products from its stores after Atkins Nutritional issued recalls, according to a company news release.

Atkins Day Break Cranberry Almond Bar, Atkins Meal Cinnamon Bun Bar, Atkins Snack Triple Chocolate Bar, Atkins Meal Blueberry Greek Yogurt Bar, Atkins Day Break Chocolate Hazelnut Bar, Atkins Snack Caramel Double Chocolate Crunch Bar and Atkins Day Break Peanut Butter Fudge Crisp Bar were recalled because of potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

The recall includes:

  • Atkins Day Break Cranberry Almond Bars with best-by dates of 9/27/16-9/29/16, 10/19/16-10/21/16, 12/9/16-12/11/16, 2/25/17, 3/28/17-3/30/17, and 4/25/17-4/26/17; 
  • Atkins Meal Cinnamon Bun Bars with best-by date of 12/14/16; Atkins Snack Triple Chocolate Bars with best-by date of 4/27/17; 
  • Atkins Meal Blueberry Greek Yogurt Bars with best-by dates of 10/21/16, 10/22/16, 11/10/16, and 3/30/17-4/1/17; 
  • Atkins Day Break Chocolate Hazelnut Bars with best-by dates of 10/23/16 and 12/16/16-12/18/16; 
  • Atkins Snack Caramel Double Chocolate Crunch Bars with best-by dates of 12/15/16 and 12/16/16;
  • and Atkins Day Break Peanut Butter Fudge Crisp Bars with best-by dates of 10/1/16, 4/29/17 and 4/30/17.

Giant hasn't received any reports of illnesses related to the items to date but advises customers who purchased these products to discard any unused portions and bring their purchase receipt back to the store for a full refund.
