Dickey's Barbecue Pit is planning to open its first York County locations this year in Hanover and West Manchester Township, according to the franchisees' local leasing representative.
The Dallas-based restaurant, which has a menu featuring beef brisket, pulled pork and home-style sides, will open in Gateway Hanover Shopping Center in April or May and in the West Manchester Town Center in October or November, according to Karen Neiderer, of Bennett Williams Commercial.
Neiderer said the company is looking to lease two additional locations in the area, with likely landing areas including one in the southeast part of York County and one in Gettysburg.
The Dickey's in West Manchester Town Center will be located in a pad site next to Buffalo Wild Wings, she said.
Neiderer said the franchise is well-known for its Kids Eat Free on Sundays promotion, where all children 12 and under receive one free kid's meal on all Sundays per paid adult meal of equal or greater value.
Dickey's is the nation's largest barbecue chain, according to spokeswoman Michelle George, with more than 540 locations in 43 states. The company currently has restaurants open in Mechanicsburg and Lancaster. It is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.
