Verizon builds at former Hooters

THE YORK DISPATCH

Work will wrap in the next 30 to 45 days on the construction of a new 6,000-square-foot Verizon store at 703-705 Loucks Road in York City, according to Jim Leech of Frontier Development. The property is the former site of a Hooters restaurant, which closed its doors in March 2013 after the chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. John O'Malley, a Verizon spokesman, said the company is aiming to open the new store in mid- or late September. "It's still a fluid date, but that's our timeframe," O'Malley said in an email.
