National Apple Harvest Festival

It’s nearly time for the annual pilgrimage to the Biglerville area for the National Apple Harvest Festival.

The festival runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, Oct. 7-8 and 14-15, at the South Mountain Fairgrounds, 615 Narrows Road (aka Route 234), Biglerville. Admission is $10 for ages 12 and up and free for children under 12, with discounted $9 admission for seniors 60 and older and military personnel with ID. Parking is included.

Featured attractions include chain-saw carving, hay rides, Native American dancers, puppet shows, a petting zoo, pony rides and strolling characters. Antique-lovers will find vintage and classic cars, farm equipment, gas engines and more. Food vendors will offer a wide variety of apple and non-apple treats. More than 300 arts and crafts vendors will present their wares.

Kennett Square

20th Brewfest

Trek east toward Philly for the 20th anniversary of the Kennett Brewfest.

The 2017 festival features 110 breweries offering 2-ounce sample pours from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at 600 S. Broad St., Kennett Square, about a 90-minute drive from York. Bands will provide live music, and a variety of food and merchandise vendors will have stands.

Tickets are $50 with a tasting cup and sample pours included or $15 for a designated driver with free non-alcoholic drinks included. The festival is only open to ages 21 and up.

Main Street Hanover

Fall Sip & Stroll

Spend an afternoon sampling food, wine and beer at downtown Hanover shops during the Fall Sip & Stroll.

The fun lasts from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at a variety of businesses. Attendees — who must be 21 or older — will pick up wristbands in Center Square. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 on Saturday, with a $10 in advance or $15 day-of pass for designated drivers.
